We use a reputable transfer company to collect our guests from Johannesburg OR Tambo airport and bring the guests directly to the lodge. This is ideal for guests who do not want to share a vehicle or for guests who arrive after the scheduled shuttle buses leave OR Tambo airport.

Renting a car and driving here is an option favoured by many as you have the freedom to visit the various attractions as and when you want. All the major rental companies have vehicles in Johannesburg’s OR Tambo and in Hoedspruit’s Eastgate Airport.
What Makes Guernsey So Special?
While the Big Five are not present, Guernsey is home to an abundance of wildlife: leopards, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, impalas, jackals, bushbabies, and over 200 species of birds. It’s a safe and authentic way to experience the bush – up close and personal.
This is bushveld without fences or filters. Walk the animal trails. Listen to the birds. Sip your morning coffee while zebras stroll by. It’s not a show – it’s real life, in real nature.
Fly straight into Hoedspruit Airport from Johannesburg or Cape Town. And yes – the town has a brand-new private hospital, so peace of mind is part of the package.
From your deck or while driving through the reserve, you’ll often catch breathtaking views of the Drakensberg Mountains in the distance – especially stunning at sunrise and sunset.
Without elephants or lions in the reserve, guided bushwalks are a safe and enriching option – perfect for families, or anyone looking to truly connect with nature.
